Fmyword.com is your sound-smarter dictionary. It's a collection of word to spice up your writing, sent to us exclusively by our users, which we then publish on the site. This is a space where you can share the words that make you sound smarter day to day. The site is meant to be fun to read and can be enjoyed on a daily basis.
Zach, but special thanks to www.fmylife.com.
Fmyword.com contains a healthy dose of word groups, based on a simple recipe: in a few words, users can tell everyone the words that helped them turn in their A paper. On top of being a huge help for writing, fmyword.com also aims to be a fun way to learn vocabulary.
Quite simply: each user can contribute to the site and submit his or her own words by clicking on the Submit your FMW link in the menu at the top of the page. To be published, your submission will have to be approved by our team. As soon as your story is online, visitors can vote for it in two different ways: Yes when they agree or No when they disagree. These votes allow us to rank your words.
The publication process has two consecutive parts. First, the FMW you've sent will be put through the auto moderation system, where other users will vote on whether they want to word to be published on the site. If your submission gathers enough votes, the moderating team will then decide whether the word is worthy of being on the site.
Each day we receive several hundred words. We want the site to remain as diverse as possible so we have to select a limited amount of words a day. To do so, we follow a few guidelines and criteria, a good FMW should seem canny, well worded and has to be useful!
We suggest that you to take a look at our page about the benefits of becoming a FMW member. However, even if you do not sign up to become a fully fledged fmyword.com member, you can still submit a FMW, moderate the words, and vote for the words.
You can use the search box at the top right hand corner of the page. To find a FMW, type keywords in the search box. If you don't remember, you can use the advanced search to try and find what you're looking for
